Task description
Maintain, test, overhaul and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear and other electrical devices.
The main responsibilities of an electrical mechanic are to:
- test and observe electrical, electronic and mechanical components and systems using test and measurement equipment;
- locate and repair faults in electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electromechanical equipment;
- replacing or refurbishing shafts, bearings, switches and other components;
- winding, assembling and installing various types of windings for electric motors or transformers;
- perform dynamic or static balancing of armatures or rotors, welding and brazing electrical connections, and aligning and adjusting parts;
- perform machining work to refurbish or modify shafts, switches or other parts;
- electrical mechanics may specialize in certain kinds of devices, such as electric motors or transformers, or perform certain functions, such as winding coils
Required knowledge
In addition to on-the-job training, the electrical mechanic sought must have knowledge, particularly in the following areas:
- Hold a DEP in electromechanics of automated systems;
Electrical and electronic skills; - Have at least 6 years of experience in electromechanics;
Desired skills

Task description
Under the responsibility of the Group Leader, the welder sought has as main functions the performance of various tasks related to the welding and assembly of various items and / or structures.
The main responsibilities of a welder are to:
- Perform the various welds required for the manufacture and repair of parts;
- Carry out various additional work in machining;
- Produce different metals in accordance with shop drawings;
- Communicate to his immediate superior any improvements likely to be made;
- Complete the reports required by his work;
- Perform other tasks as required and directed by management;
- Contribute, through his attitude, to creating a favorable climate for teamwork.
- Use and mastery of cutting and shaping devices.
- Assistance and sharing of knowledge and welding techniques.
Required knowledge
In addition to on-the-job training and good experience in the field, the welder sought must have knowledge, particularly in the following areas:
- Hold a DEP in welding and/or any other relevant experience;
- Have at least 6-8 years of experience in welding-assembly and machining
- Hold their skills cards accredited by the CWB.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly diagrams, plans and specifications.
- Mastery of the basic notions of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW & FCAW).
